Liberty Festival: Celebrating Disabled Artists in Wandsworth
The Liberty Festival, a free event celebrating disabled artistry, will take place in Wandsworth from September 24th to 28th, 2025. Highlights include Midgitte Bardot's “Personal Spot,” a vibrant show encompassing live art, dance, drag, comedy, and music from the mental health charity Sound Minds. BLINK Dance Theatre presents “Elvis Died of Burgers,” a humorous and poignant exploration of overeating through non-linear storytelling. An immersive walk-through installation, “Capturing the Forest,” created by Kristina Veasey and Alejandro Ahmed, transforms Battersea Arts Centre into a fantastical environment. Interactive sessions, “The Love In,” offer personalized love letters from “The Lover.” The festival culminates in a Sunday Picnic in the Park with music by Miss Jacqui. The festival is part of Wandsworth's year as London Borough of Culture, showcasing diverse artistic talent and promoting inclusivity within the arts. Venues include the Clapham Grand and Battersea Arts Centre, offering a variety of performances and workshops.
